Wolverhampton Mountaineering Club
From ...Ski Touring in the Otztaler Alps
.....and so it was the following morning that preparations saw us leaving the hut at 7.30am
and a gentle 'skin' onto the Langtaler Glacier, about five kilometres before any real
steepening occurred. As ever, when venturing onto steeper slopes for the first time each
season I ask myself the question "How am I going to ski down here?" But a few tentative
manoeuvres and confidence begins to grow..... British ski tourers are still a rare breed in
the Alps and they are keen to hear of our interest in this discipline of mountaineering.
